Collection: Point Picquet

Point Picquet is one of Western Australia's most striking coastal lookouts - a place where turquoise water, rugged granite, and sweeping headlands come together in a scene that feels both wild and serene. Nestled along the Meelup Regional Park coastline, this stretch of shoreline is known for its crystal-clear shallows, vibrant reef systems, and the dramatic contrast between white sand and deep blue ocean. Point Picquet offers a rare combination of calm, sheltered bays and powerful offshore swells, creating endless opportunities to capture shifting light, colour, and texture throughout the day.

At sunrise, soft pastels wash across the water, illuminating the granite boulders and casting long shadows across the shoreline. As the sun climbs, the ocean transforms into a luminous palette of aquas and cobalt blues, perfect for aerial shots and wide-angle seascapes. I winter, migrating whales often pass close to shore, added another layer of magic to the scene. Whether I'm shooting long-exposure waves, glowing golden hour reflections, or the rugged beauty of the Cape Naturaliste coastline, Point Picquet delivers a rich and diverse canvas for seascapes, and in my opinion is a true hidden gem of Western Australia's southwest.
