Giant waterfalls squeezing their way down the mountains can be frequently found around glacier country.

The South Island of New Zealand is the larger of the two islands by surface area but is less populated. The waters around the island are the Cook Strait, Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean.

Running along the Island from North to South are the Southern Alps, home to Fox and Franz Josef glaciers and its highest peak Mount Cook.
